Star-Studded Celebration Will Take Place at Bal Harbour Shops in South Florida
The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis is proud to announce NBC News Icon Tom Brokaw will serve as Master of Ceremonies for this year’s Destination Fashion 2012 on Saturday, November 10th. Honorary Co-Chairs for the event, Academy Award winner Tommy Lee Jones and his wife Dawn Jones, and International Polo sensation Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras and his wife Delfina Blaquier, will join a who’s who of celebrities, philanthropic icons, business leaders, sports legends, fashionistas and many South Florida notables for the main event. Proceeds from Destination Fashion 2012 will directly benefit The Buoniconti Fund, the fundraising arm of The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. The Miami Project is the world’s most comprehensive spinal cord injury research center, and is a designated Center of Excellence at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
The star-studded prestigious event is hosted at the world famous Bal Harbour Shops.
The official kickoff event, held recently at The Villa by Barton G. – the former Versace Mansion, included the announcement of the Special Honorees for the main event including: Micky and Madeleine Arison who will receive the Inspiration Award, Paul and Swanee DiMare will accept The Buoniconti Fund Award, the Outstanding Humanitarian Award will go to Christine E. Lynn, and the Outstanding Philanthropist Award will go to Beatrice and Sanford Ziff.
